Yeasayer will release their sophomore effort Odd Blood on February 9th. The 9 track effort is sure to expand upon the sounds they developed with All Hour Cymbals. Many of the new songs have been road tested (check out our Hudson River review) so expect some very polished and well developed sound. No other news yet, but following Yeasayer’s twitter might help reveal some clues. Tracklist below.
Before February, Yeasayer will be performing as part of the It Came From Brooklyn series at the Guggenheim on October 30th with Tanlines, a reading by Rachel Sherman and hosting the event will be Max Silvestri. The band is teasing that even more details will come on that date. Tickets are on sale.
The show is going to be amazing. According to Guggenheim:
“For their Guggenheim performance, Yeasayer is planning a 3-D light show with cycles of color and animation projected onto the wall of the rotunda, for a “synesthetic experience of music and light” (in Kandinsky’s spirit maybe)….The audience will receive black paper ChromaDepth 3-D glasses to experience the performance”
