Currently embarking on 3 residencies, this quintet from Newport Beach (fka The Jakes) is a rising powerhouse that I don’t think will stop anytime soon. Although the members are 21 or younger, Young the Giant members Sameer Gadhia, Payam Doostzadeh, Jacob Tilley, Francois Comtois and Eric Cannata come together as a very focused band with solid arrangements and guitar riffs. Gadhia’s smooth voice has complete ownership over songs like “Guns Out,” “My Body,” and “Cough Syrup.”

The band has just finished their first full length album with Grammy Award winning producer Joe Chiccarelli (The White Stripes, The Shins, My Morning Jacket) to be released on Roadrunner Records. Their three residencies are continuing throughout August, you can catch them at the following dates below:
