Ryan Bingham and the Dead Horses – Tell My Mother I Miss Her So [MP3]
2010′s Americana Music Award “Artist of the Year,” Ryan Bingham rolled into New York City with his band, The Dead Horses and played to a sold out crowd at the Bowery Ballroom on Thursday night, October 14. The 29-year old Texan, still riding high after winning an Oscar along with T-Bone Burnett for their song “The Weary Kind” from 2009’s Crazy Heart, played songs from all 3 of his albums including his most recent Junky Heart.
The 18 song set showcased Bingham’s rollicking bar room foot stompers, “Tell My Mother That I Miss Her So” and heartbroken ballads, “Junky Star.” “Dylan’s Hard Rain”- a Springsteen-like song about being on the road was a highlight of the set that received one of the louder responses from the audience.
