After CMJ announced its initial Music Marathon lineup with acts like Neon Indian, Wild Flag, Portugal. The Man, J. Mascis, Gang Gang Dance, CSS, The Wombats, Metronomy, Talib Kweli, Zola Jesus, Dum Dum Girls, Davilla 666, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Oberhofer and Free Energy, the 2011 CMJ Music Marathon has announced 900 additional acts set to take over New York from October 18-22.
Some of the notable acts in this announcement include araabMUZIK, Braids, Cerebral Ballzy, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., Exitmusic, French Montana, Gauntlet Hair, Hindi Zahra, Islands, Jacuzzi Boys, Kate Miller-Heidke, Lord Huron, Main Attrakionz, Nina Nastasia, Outernational, Parts & Labor, Quilt, Rusted Root, Seekae, Twin Shadow, Unstoppable Death Machines, Vockah Redu, Weekend, Xylos, Young Prisms, and Zambri. Twin Shadow and Rusted Root are the most recognizable names out of the list but Braids, Zambri and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. are all solid additions. Nicholas Thorburn, aka Nick Diamonds, will focus on Islands during CMJ while touring with Mister Heavenly later in the fall.
