Yacht Remixed by Jacques Renault, Get a Room!, Max Tundra, Larry Gus

YACHT have let their latest single fly with “I Walked Alone.” A little Talking Heads vibe, busy beat, DFA Records signatures, and an infectiousness that we have come to expect from the band make for a solid little ditty. “I Walked Alone” tends to be more straightforward than we are used to seeing from YACHT. It’s talking about rather Earthly and immediate things rather than an odd and mysterious mix of post-apocalyptic wit and humor.

YACHT are much more than a band as they tend to act more as a creative vehicle for whatever Jona Bechtolt has on his mind. Adding Claire L. Evans to the mix on See Mystery Lights and now Shangri-La has only expanded the ambition.

YACHT just released Shangri-La in July, and as with everything DFA Records does, they went all out in publishing a bevy of great remixes for the new single. “I Walked Alone” has been remixed by Jacques Renault, Get a Room!, Max Tundra, and Larry Gus. First, one of our favorite producers and fellow New Yorker Jacques Renault comes through with a brilliant disco creation, as usual.

And another awesome remix comes from French producers Get A Room! — Aurélien Haaas (Rove Dogs) and Jeff Lasson — who also run the blog/label Small Time Cuts. The duo recently offered this five-hour-long DJ set at Le Bain, here in New York, during Fashion Week, and plan their debut album release for next year.

YACHT are out on the road for a few dates, including a stop at Santos Party House tomorrow, December 3. All dates after the jump.
