The Cribs are back, minus one member but with a new album and tour dates.
The Cribs are back down to a three-piece now that Johnny Marr is no longer with the band. It’s back to the brothers Jarman for In the Belly of the Brazen Bull, their fifth studio album. In the Belly of the Brazen Bull will be released on March 8, 2012 on Wichita Records.
In the Belly of the Brazen Bull was recorded in upstate New York with longtime producer for The Flaming Lips, Dave Fridmann. The Cribs also recruited Steve Albini or some tracks, including “Chi-Town.” You can get your first listen, and download, of “Chi-Town” over at Spin.
In the Belly of the Brazen Bull is the follow up to 2009′s Ignore the Ignorant, which was an interesting, and successful, departure from the band that saw them try some new things out and included Marr on guitar.
Before the album drops, The Cribs will hit the road in April for a few dates, including a stop at The Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn. Tickets go on fan sale over at The Cribs’ Facebook page at noon today, February 16 and on general sale, Friday, February 17.
All dates, as well as the track list for In the Belly of the Brazen Bull, after the jump.
