Arctic Monkeys were supporting The Black Keys in some very large arenas but that didn’t seem to trouble the band one bit. Even playing at Madison Square Garden, for the second time this tour, in New York on March 22, Arctic Monkeys felt right at home. Alex Turner and company have had a lot of experience being in the spotlight and playing to large crowds in the UK and overseas, so a date at Madison Square Garden is just another day in the office for a band like Arctic Monkeys.
With no time to waste, Arctic Monkeys started things off fast and furious with “Brianstorm.” The song sounded thunderous at Madison Square Garden and was followed up by “This House is a Circus.” For 16 songs, fans had a chance to see a great young act do what it does best and made the wait for The Black Keys that much easier.

For Arctic Monkeys it was close to a normal set although they did not play “505,” “She’s Thunderstorms,” “Suck it and See,” “Black Treacle,” “Do Me a Favour” or “When the Sun Goes Down” like they did at their last headlining show in New York at the Music Hall of Williamsburg.
