The Hives announced their comeback with a pair of dates of Coachella. It wouldn’t be much of a comeback without a new album or more tour dates, right?
The Hives have announced their latest album, Lex Hives, which will be released on June 05 via their own label, Disques Hives. You can check out the track list after the jump.
While The Hives were in California and having fun at Coachella, the band stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live. You can check out “Go Right Ahead,” the lead single from Lex Hives above and another track from the album, “Wait a Minute,” below.
With a new album on the way, The Hives will be returning to America beginning in June. The nine stops on the tour will include dates in Washington, Philadelphia, Boston, Montreal, Toronto, Chicago and Summerfest in Milwaukee. The Hives will be playing Terminal 5 in New York on June 22. All dates below.

Jack White has been and will always be a busy man. Hot on the heels of releasing Blunderbuss (read our review), Jack White is set to play a special show at Webster Hall. It sold out in seconds but you’ll be able to stream the show in its entirety on Youtube.
Even better? It’ll be directed by Gary Oldman.
As part of the American Express Unstaged series, Vevo and Youtube will be streaming White’s performance at Webster Hall on April 27, 2012. The show will be streaming at 9pm EST, so mark your calendars and make sure you’re in front of a computer.
White has been a great live performer and considering his two other stops in New York, at Roseland Ballroom on May 21 and 22, are also sold out, this may be the closest you get to seeing White in New York.
Don’t think the Oscar nominated Oldman has what it takes to direct this performance? Think again. White and Oldman seem to have great chemistry as evidenced by the slew of videos that have been released to preview the event.
The 30 second videos are just little snippets showcasing the personalities of Oldman and White. Check out the rest of the videos after the jump.

I was the one of the many who were shut out from getting tickets to the Kraftwerk retrospective at the Modern Museum of Art. Much bellyaching followed but the fates (and Volkswagen) had other plans and I was gifted two tickets to Kraftwerk’s performance of Computer World. It was more than worth the hassle and I would be delighted to have Kraftwerk as my robot overlords.
This look back at Kraftwerk’s career didn’t feel like a glorified victory lap. The electronic pioneers have always gotten their share of praise and their influence is undeniable so this was not a way to reap recent rewards. Instead, Kraftwerk gave us an audio and visual experience that was rooted in the past but felt modern and not at all dated.

More of the night including photos and a video after the jump.
